Links to private accounts, stories that have expired, live streams in progress and paid content can't be downloaded.

You can only get the qualities the original upload has. If someone posted a video at 720p, there is no 1080p copy to download, and no tool can add detail that was never there.

Without an account you can save videos up to 720p. A free account raises that to 1080p and adds 5 downloads. A download pack or lifetime membership unlocks 2K, 4K and 8K when the source has them, with larger files.

On iPhone and iPad, Safari saves the MP4 to Downloads in the Files app. Open it there and use the Share button to save it to Photos. On Android, the video goes to the Downloads folder and shows up in your gallery or Files app.

On Windows and Mac, the file lands in your Downloads folder. Any modern browser works, including Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox.

Most problems come from the link itself. Make sure you copied the link to one video, not to a profile, a playlist or a search page. If the post has several clips, open the one you want before you copy its address.

Check that the video plays when you are signed out of the app. If it only plays for followers or members, it isn't public and can't be saved. A video that was deleted, or blocked in some countries, can fail as well. Wait a minute and try again if the site was briefly busy. If it still fails, the error message says what went wrong and what to try next.
