Open the TikTok you want, tap Share and then Copy link, and paste the link into the box above. Press Download. Once the video has been checked you’ll see its title, its length and a Save MP3 · 192 kbps button. Press it and the sound is prepared on our server and saved by your browser as an MP3. It works on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac without an app or a TikTok account.
The detector accepts full tiktok.com/@name/video/... links and the short vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com links that the Share menu produces. If the app copies a sentence along with the link, paste it all; the box picks out the address. Check that the TikTok label appears before you press Download, so you know the right link was found.
If you want the clip with its picture, open More formats in the same result. The MP4 is listed there, so you don’t need to paste the link again. The TikTok to MP4 page does the same thing but leads with the video.
TikTok usually delivers a post as a single MP4 file with the picture and the sound together. There is no separate audio file to hand you, so our server fetches the smallest version of the video that carries the sound, takes its audio track and encodes it once as an MP3 at a constant 192 kbps. The picture is discarded. Using the smallest version keeps the wait short, and the sound is the same across TikTok’s video sizes.
TikTok’s own audio is normally AAC at around 128 kbps. Encoding it as 192 kbps MP3 keeps everything in the source, but it can’t add detail TikTok never sent. If a video sounds thin or distorted in the app, the MP3 will sound the same. A larger number on another converter changes the file size, not what you hear.
The MP3 runs for the whole video, including any talking before or after the music. It does not split a video into separate songs and does not try to remove voices or background noise. To keep only a few seconds, trim the file in an audio editor after you save it.
People most often use a TikTok MP3 to keep the voice of their own videos, to listen to a recipe, lesson or story without the screen on, or to bring a recording they made into an audio editor. An MP3 suits all of these: it is small, plays in the background on any phone and opens in GarageBand, Audacity and most video editors.
Many TikToks use sounds from TikTok’s library: licensed songs, other creators’ original audio or clips from films and shows. Saving such a sound as an MP3 does not give you any new rights to it. Licensed music is often cleared only for use inside TikTok. If you want to reuse a song in your own project, get it from the rights holder or a licensed music service.
Creators can also limit downloads of their videos, and TikTok can mute or replace music in some regions. The MP3 contains exactly the sound the public video plays from our server’s location. Use this page for your own videos, for sounds the creator has made available, or where you otherwise have permission.
This page works only from video links. A TikTok sound page (the one that lists every video using a sound), a profile, a hashtag page and a search result do not point at one video, so the box can’t convert them. Open a public video that uses the sound you want and copy that video’s link.
An MP3 counts as one download, the same as a video: 3 downloads without an account, 5 more with a free account and 1 free every day after that, and more with a download pack that never expires. Choosing the same video and format again within 15 minutes doesn’t count twice, and a download that fails before any data arrives is given back. Videos longer than one hour are outside the current limit.
Photo carousels with music are not videos. If a post is a slideshow of images, the result may have no MP3 or no formats at all; that is expected rather than a fault. Private accounts, removed posts, live streams and region-blocked videos can’t be fetched either. The site does not use your TikTok login, so it can only reach what is public.
On iPhone and iPad, Safari puts the file in Files › Downloads. Tap it to play it or use Share to send it to another app. On Android, Chrome saves it to the Downloads folder, and most music players find it there. On a computer it goes to your browser’s download folder.
The file may arrive with a plain name such as audio.mp3. Rename it to the song or creator so you can find it later; the name does not change the sound. If you save several clips in a row, your browser may add a number to each name.
The link is refused. Make sure it is a single video link. Short links from the Share menu work; a profile, sound page, hashtag or search link does not. If the short link fails, open it in your browser and copy the full address it lands on.
There is no Save MP3 button. The video may have no sound track, or the post may be a photo carousel. Then the page says there is no MP3 for this video and still offers the MP4 where one exists.
The MP3 is silent or the music is missing. TikTok sometimes mutes copyrighted music or swaps it for another track in certain regions. Play the video in a private browser window without signing in; if the music is missing there too, the MP3 reflects that.
The download stopped. Keep the page open while the MP3 is being prepared. If it fails before the file starts, the download is not counted, so you can try again shortly. Repeated failures on one link usually mean TikTok is blocking that video from our server’s region; another public video will often work.
I can’t find the file. Check your browser’s downloads list. On iPhone look in Files › Downloads; on Android in the Downloads folder; on a computer in the browser’s download folder.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I download just the sound of a TikTok?
- Yes. Paste the video's link, press Download and choose Save MP3. You get the sound of that video as a 192 kbps MP3.
- Do short vm.tiktok.com links work?
- Yes. Short vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com links are recognized as long as they lead to a public TikTok video.
- Can I save a TikTok sound page or a song from the TikTok library?
- No. The tool works from a video link. Open a public video that uses the sound and paste that video's link instead.
- Why is the MP3 bigger than I expected for a short clip?
- The MP3 is encoded at a constant 192 kbps, about 1.4 MB per minute, so even a 30-second clip is roughly 0.7 MB. Length, not picture quality, sets the size.
- Does a TikTok MP3 count as a download?
- Yes. It counts once, like a video. Guests get 3 downloads in total (1 a day), a free account adds 5 plus 1 free download every day, and download packs start at $2.99.
- Is the sound the same as in the app?
- It is the sound TikTok delivers with the public video. If the creator's music was muted or swapped for your region, the MP3 has the same muted or swapped sound.
